What it does
Hover dictionary
Point at a character or word in almost any app — the definition, pinyin and tone colors appear in a floating panel.
Drag-to-OCR
Select a region of the screen to read Chinese text from images, PDFs, or videos. Recognition runs on-device via Apple Vision.
Flashcards & review
Save any word with a keystroke. Review with a built-in spaced-repetition flow and keep your own personal dictionary.
HSK & chengyu aware
Entries are tagged with HSK level. Four-character idioms (chengyu) are detected and marked so you can study them in context.
Works offline
No account, no server calls, no analytics. The dictionary (CC-CEDICT) and OCR both run locally on your Mac.
Keyboard-first
Global shortcuts for hover, OCR, saving a card, filtering by HSK level, opening review, and more — no mouse required.
Pricing
The app is free to try for one week. After the trial, continue with a yearly subscription managed by Apple through the App Store. You can cancel anytime from System Settings → Apple ID → Media & Purchases → Subscriptions before the next renewal. See Terms for full details of the auto-renewing subscription.
