White Bear is an offline iOS / iPadOS flashcard app for learning Russian, covering CEFR levels A1–C2. The app is currently in its final release preparation and will be available on the App Store soon. This page is the official support channel.

When will White Bear be released?
The app is in final preparation for its App Store launch and will be available soon. Check the main page for the current status.
Does the app need an internet connection?
No. All vocabulary, audio (Apple's built-in TTS), reading texts, and grammar lessons are bundled in the app. It works fully offline.
Does my progress sync between iPhone and iPad?
Not automatically. Progress is stored locally on each device. You can move your data between devices manually with the built-in backup/restore file.
Are there subscriptions or in-app purchases?
No. White Bear is a single one-time purchase. No ads, no subscriptions, no tracking.
I'm a complete beginner — can I start with the alphabet?
Yes. A dedicated Cyrillic alphabet drill teaches all 33 letters with learn cards and a two-direction multiple-choice drill, before you move on to vocabulary. All words and example sentences include romanization.
What can I do besides flashcards?
Multiple-choice and dictation drills, sentence cloze, graded reading with tap-to-lookup, grammar lessons with level exams, color-coded parts of speech in sentences, and a camera scan mode that recognizes Cyrillic text from photos and documents.
What spaced-repetition algorithm is used?
FSRS with Anki-default parameters, plus learning steps for new cards. The app can also analyze how well the scheduler fits your personal review history.
How do I request a refund?
Refunds are handled by Apple. Visit reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in with your Apple ID, find the White Bear purchase, and choose "Request a refund."
What data does the app collect about me?
